Advisory Committee


The President shall appoint an Advisory Committee from the members of the Executive Committee of the State Association, along with a physician licensed by the State of New Jersey for a period of one year or until their successors are appointed. Said committee shall consist of three members of the Executive Committee, the Treasurer of this Association who shall also act as Secretary-Treasurer of the Committee and the Field Examiner. The Vice President and Secretary will serve as alternates. The Advisory Committee after appointment, shall hold a meeting thereafter as soon as possible and organize by the election of a chairman, and then proceed to carry out the rules and regulations as adopted by the Executive Committee governing said Advisory Committee.

The duties of the Advisory Committee are as follows:
  1. Meet at least twice a month or whenever requested by a majority of its members.
     
  2. They shall have the power to demand any and all records of a local relief association and its affiliated companies pertaining to membership, together with a certification of the governmental entity records whenever same is deemed necessary for inspection.
     
  3. The Advisory Committee shall report at each meeting of the Executive Committee the number of claims filed, considered, and paid since the last annual report, and any other matters of interest to or called for by the Executive Committee.
     
  4. The Treasurer who is a member of the Advisory Committee, shall, on or before July 1st of each year, submit an Association budget providing for the estimated number of claims which may be filed in the next succeeding year with recommendations for the amount to be paid.
     
  5. The Advisory Committee shall receive from the local secretaries all notices of death. When all the necessary information has been received for each claim the Advisory Committee shall approve or disapprove the claim.
     
  6. The Secretary of the Advisory Committee shall keep a set of minutes of each meeting and give an annual report at each convention.
